Hoping Hoping Hoping
...that my MIL and BIL make it in tomorrow. They both have scheduled flights tomorrow morning/afternoon. Do a plane dance!
Change of plans?
We should be on our way to the airport right now, going to pick up my MIL and BIL. Instead, we're sitting here in the midst of yet ANOTHER snowstorm! I can't believe it. There is supposed to be a "lull" in the storm, and hopefully they can get in tomorrow before it picks up again. It looks like our trip to Florida is a wash. On a positive note, we hadn't bought football game tickets yet, and if we cancel our hotel room by tomorrow at 2 pm, we won't be charged. And we can get a refund for our plane tickets. So at least we won't be out any money! I'm disappointed, but am enjoying time at home with the family!

Wonderful Christmas!

As you can tell by my previous post, we had a white Christmas. It was wonderful. Little Man was a bit too young to totally get it, but he still enjoyed ripping through packages and playing with toys. My mom and brother came over and we had lots of yummy food, including a Honeybaked Ham! Hooray! It was just a wonderful, relaxing day with family and I feel so lucky! I got a lot of fun toys including: Roomba, a set of pots and pans, an under-cabinet cd player for the kitchen, a tasty blue puffy vest, and some new boots. Yahoo! Little Man got a wagon, and lots of clothes and toys. Hubby got a new phone, a video Ipod, and lots of work clothes. We are spoiled. And blessed!
Snowed in!

This past week has been insane. The snow started falling Tuesday night/Wednesday morning and kept snowing until Thursday night. We had at least two feet at our house. It was so windy that we had drifts of almost six feet! We weren't able to leave the house until Friday night, when we had to pick up my brother at the airport. The airport was closed for 2 days so he was real lucky to arrive with no problems. The REAL savior for us has been hubby's brother's car. Hubby's bro flew to Milwaukee for Christmas, and left his four wheel drive at our house. We luckily haven't had to go too many places, but that car was the only thing that has gotten us out of the neighborhood! Tonight they FINALLY started plowing around our area (you read correctly - today is TUESDAY and they are just plowing), but who knows if they'll actually hit our street. We are still awaiting UPS and FedEx packages we were supposed to get for Christmas. The worst part - it's supposed to snow again Thursday! My MIL is supposed to fly in Thursday, so hubby and I can spend New Year's in Florida and she will stay with Little Man. So do a "no snow" dance!!

I'm officially domesticated.
For Christmas, my in laws got me a set of Emeril pots and pans. And I was excited.
Holy crap, I must be old.
Holy crap, I must be old.
From Sun to Snow!
So last weekend we flew down to the Florida panhandle to have an early Christmas with hubby's dad's family. It was a lot of fun. They have a beautiful house and the weather was warm. It was also really neat to see Little Man interacting with his cousin who is 2 1/2. Little Man got SO jealous when Daddy played with Sara Beth. It was hilarious. He would either jump in Daddy's lap, or just start crying. I've never seen him react like that before. He was a trooper on all 4 of the plane rides, of course. He's such a sweet boy.
The weather there was crazy, it was upper 70's. So of course we fly home to temps in the teens. And then today - A BLIZZARD! It's been crazy. We've gotten probably 18 inches of snow, with blowing wind. Hubby stayed home from work, thank goodness. And I don't have to work tonight either which is good. I hope it slows down by Friday, my brother is flying in for Christmas that night!

Leaving on a jet plane!
Tomorrow, we're off to Florida! Every year, the weekend before Xmas we go down to FIL's house for Christmas with his side of the family. This year is no different. So we're flying tomorrow, have a layover in Memphis (mmmm - barbecue at Memphis airport ROCKS!). Should be fun. Little Man will get to party with aunts and uncles, cousins, grandpa, stepgrandma, and great grandma. Should be a good time! I'll update when we get back (late Monday night)
Ho ho ho!

Men will always be boys.

Why is that? If hubby found me playing with my Barbies, he'd probably try to get me professional help. But a buddy of his was here this weekend, and they played video games. A lot. It was funny. In this picture Little Man is trying to play too.
It was a fun weekend with our friend, but now it's Monday and this week is supah busy. I have to work tonight, Tuesday night, and Wednesday night. And then we leave on Thursday for Destin. We are having an early Christmas with hubby's dad's side of the family. We do it once a year the weekend before Christmas and it's always a great time! I did get my Christmas cards done yesterday, so that's good. My friend is an AMAZING photographer and helped me get pics of Little Man for the card, he doesn't keep still so my camera is useless in those situations! Check out her work HERE

Life happens...
...while you're waiting for the pizza to arrive.
I wanted to go to this tree lighting ceremony our neighborhood is having. But it ends in 30 minutes and I'm sitting here, waiting for the pizza we ordered FOREVER ago to get here. I'd go w/o eating but I'm STARVING. Bastards!
UPDATE: Got the pizza. Ice cold. Luckily, ice cold pizza is still good!

TGIF.
Ahhh, it's Friday. I survived this crazy week. Little Man's steri strips are all off of his head wound, and now it's just a scab. It doesn't look good, but not NEARLY as bad as I thought it would be, so I'm thanking my lucky stars. I have everything in for my MBA school application, after a bunch of phone calls and frantic emails to my alma mater trying to get a transcript. I finished Christmas shopping, cleaned the house, had our friend arrive from out of town, got Little Man's pics taken for Xmas cards, worked, and here I am. Ready to collapse. I am so thankful I don't have any plans this weekend. Well, we have our friend in town, but he usually hangs more with hubby than myself, and he's not someone I feel I have to be Miss Hostess for. Thank goodness.
Little Man's in bed, so it's time to grab a beer! Happy Friday!

Almost to Friday!

The week is still flying by. Tuesday night we went and saw Santa. Little Man was not a fan. So he was rewarded with his very first Happy Meal! He cared more about the toy than the food, he must not be my son! hee hee.
Now we're on clean-up alert. Our friend and Hubby's best man is coming to visit for the weekend, he'll be here tomorrow morning. I just need to clean up this house!! And I am ALMOST done with Christmas shopping. I need to buy 2 books at a bookstore, and a gift card to Best Buy and then I am DONE! Hallelujah!

I've made it this far...

...in the week and I'm not dead yet! That's a good thing. Boy am I pooped. This picture is Little Man on Sunday morning. Isn't he cute with his stitches? Unfortunately, they didn't stay in. When he got in his crib to take a nap, he had all stitches and a band-aid. When he woke up, only one stitch was left! I couldn't believe it. So back to Urgent Care we went. They kept saying over and over that they'd never seen a kid so young get his stitches out. And how did it not hurt when they came out? Anyhow, since it had been over 24 hours since the cut happened, they couldn't really do much for Little Man. They took out the 1 remaining stitch (it wasn't really holding anything), and put some steri strips on the cut.
He's gonna have a bigger scar than he would with stitches, but I'll do my best to take care of the wound to minimize the scarring. Wahh!!!
Fast forward to Monday. We got some things done around the house, then I worked in the evening. When I got home I got to start getting together my application for business school. I had to write 2 essays and update my resume. I finally finished and went to bed around 1:30! Needless to say, I am TIRED! But Little Man and I dropped my application off at FedEx Kinko's, to be overnighted. Finally out of my hands!
Tonight we're going to see Santa and do some Christmas shopping. The rest of the week is cleaning up the house - hubby's Best Man is coming to visit for the weekend. Hopefully I'll fit a nap in there somewhere!

Busting right open!
Little Man's head, that is. He cracked his head on the coffee table today. It was awful. Blood was everywhere. He had to get 5 stitches on his forehead. Poor Buddy!!! He was so cute running around the urgent care, happy as can be, like he didn't have a huge gash on his head.
When the time came to actually get the stitches, I was a wuss and had to wait outside of the room. I was just so upset I thought it would make it worse having him see Mommy upset. Anyhow, they put him in a little purple hospital gown with little animals on it. They even put Thomas the Tank Engine on the tv to try to distract him. Then they wrapped him up in this papoose-like thing, that made him unable to move his arms (to mess with the doc). Then they put in the stitches. That was the part I stepped out for, but I did hear my baby screaming bloody murder. Ugh.
Once he got home, had some food, and got to play, he was happy as can be. He is such a trooper. Mommy, not so much. It was horrible and I never want to go through that again. I have to clean the sutures twice a day until Thursday, when they'll be taken out. I am really fearful that he'll have a big scar or something. Poor baby!
I'll post pics tomorrow once I take the band-aid off. Wahhhh!
.......
As for the coffee table, we are getting rid of it.
This is what I hope will happen to that wretched thing:
