I really, really do. I took one yesterday, because the weekend had just worn me out. My brother flew in on Thursday night with his girlfriend, or soon-to-be fiancee, or whatever you want to call her. I was so nervous to meet her! She was so nice though, and they act like they've known each other for years. It's crazy. It's also hilarious to see someone kinda boss my brother around a little. Like she'll wear the pants in the relationship, lol. But he seems SOO happy so that's awesome. They're getting married in September and we'll be there! Can't wait.
My aunt and uncle also arrived yesterday. They will be here for 2 weeks! Little Man was totally overwhelmed with all the guests and just melted down. I'd never seen him like this before. My guests all went to Boulder for the afternoon yesterday, and Little Man napped, so therefore I napped too. I love having guests but it tires me.
Oh yeah - I got an A on my business plan. Hooray for me. Rock n roll!

Haven't you ever wanted to do this?
There are many times where I've had the "Really?!?" response in my head, but can't say it at risk of being rude. They put it perfectly.
ETA: This is the one where they talk about Michael Vick. How freaking funny is it that he used the name "Ron Mexico" to get STD medications at clinics? That is the greatest alias ever.

Fall is the new black.
Of weddings that is. Do you remember when everyone got married in the summer? When we were searching for places to get married in June, many places were booked 2 years in advance! Crazy! This year it seems like everyone is getting married at off-times. One of my old roommates got married in February, and my hair lady got married in March. And even more people are getting married in the Fall - my brother September 1, one of DH's friends September 8, one of my old HS boyfriends October 13, and my best friend October 19. Sheesh! It's madness I tell you. I'm not complaining, I LOVE weddings, and our summer is super busy as it is.
The Countdown to Thursday is on!
That's when my brother gets into town with his soon-to-be fiancee! I am so nervous and excited. I've never met her, and I'm hoping she's awesome. No pressure. hee hee. I also want my house to look normal and clean. I don't know if that will happen. I've been running around like an idiot trying to clean things that haven't been cleaned in a while. I also have to finish my business plan. I am happy to say that I'm CLOSE to having it done.
I am thrilled b/c I just bought a deck box for the backyard. You see, all of Little Man's backyard toys have been housed in the kitchen since Christmas. So my kitchen has basically looked like ass since then. So I am THRILLED at the idea of having his toys be outside where they should be. Hallelujah for sales, and for Target!

Grass disaster averted.
We went to turn on the sprinkler system this past week, only to realize it wouldn't turn on, and there was a huge pile of standing water in our sprinkler spout box. It totally sucked. We assumed we wouldn't be able to afford to get it fixed and would have to manually water the damn grass all summer.
BUT! We fixed this morning. Ourselves. We needed one piece to do it, and had to mess with some things, and the then the sprinklers gloriously came on! Hooray!
It feels SO good to not have to worry about that. Now I just have to worry about my damn business plan! I was up late doing it last night, I was sure I'd finish. Nope, not even halfway done! It's kicking my ass! Oh well. When I'm done, you'll hear me singing from the rooftop.

Long but good day!
We were all over the place. Little Man and I went to Kohl's and Big Lots (I found a perfect picture frame for his room, for $5 - score!), then to Grandma's to eat lunch. When Grandma got home, we all went over to the mall. Grandma bought Little Man some new duds and then he napped in his stroller while we ate pizza. Westminster Mall sure is going to shit, but man the pizza place there is GOOD! Anyway, I only had to work for 2 hours (yay!) and then I got my hair cut (double yay!). Tomorrow morning Little Man is being photographed by my friend that is a photographer - she is amazing. Check out her website Lamb Photography. I am so excited to have nice photos of him again! It's been a long time!
Oh yeah, some random quick thoughts:
-My aunt and uncle are coming to visit at the end of the month. If they like it here (they live in NJ), they're moving here. My mom is SOO excited.
-My dad scored a place for me to have my friend Katie's bridal shower in Milwaukee in September. Yahoo! One less thing to worry about.
-I really need to finish my business plan for school this week. If I do, then I can clean my house since my brother and his soon-to-be-fiancee will be here in ONE WEEK! AAAAHHHHHH!!!!

Dear lady at Payless,
I'm sorry that we wanted to come into your store at 9:40 - ten minutes after you were supposed to have opened. Would it really have been that hard to TURN THE LIGHTS ON while I was there? Don't worry, the shoes looked a lot less hideous in the dark anyhow.

Update to date post, and ode to Buffalo Wild Wings.
We saw Blades of Glory - it was hilarious! I haven't seen a movie in a long time. Then we ate at Buffalo Wild Wings with Little Man and Grandma. Little Man had macaroni and cheese (surprise surprise) and was totally covered in cheese by the end of lunch. I had a Chicken Tender Wrapper - highly recommend it. I almost always get it, unless I can't resist the call of some wings.
Hubby and I used to go to Buffalo Wild Wings ALL the time. One year of college his apartment was directly above one, so we'd always take advantage of 10 cent wing night. When we moved to Alabama after college, they opened one not far from our apartment. We'd go there for drinks or to watch sports. I remember Hubby breaking a huge beer glass during an exciting play in the NCAA basketball tournament. heh. When we moved to CO, there was one right by our apartment. Now that we live in the middle of nowhere though, the closest BWW is a good 20-25 minutes away.
The moral of the story? Someone give me a loan to open my own BWW on this side of town. Goldmine, I promise you.

Have a 'date night' at 10 am....
Tomorrow morning we're dropping Little Man off with Grandma and going to see an early movie and have lunch. Not the most romantic ever, but we take what we can get!

Good old ground beef.
Is it sad that my husband and I NEVER KNEW that ground beef can come in a tube-like packaging?!? We always have bought it in the styrofoam containers w/ saran wrap around it. Now we see it in this oval shape covered in plastic. It's like a whole world I never knew existed.

Getting my hopes up.
I HATE when I do this to myself. I see something and can instantly envision it coming to fruition, even if it's a total longshot. And then I'm disappointed when it doesn't happen. Argh! I applied for a part time job tonight, that I found on good old craigslist. I love that website. Anyhow, this job is for someone to review different software programs for usability and quality assurance. From home! Love it! The best part - the owner of the company went to school in WI. Can't go wrong with that. So, here I am, with my hopes up...

Happy Easter!
It feels more like Christmas than Easter. It's been snowing/freezing rain all day, and chilly! Yuck! We tried to go to church bright and early this morning. It was SOOOO crowded, there was nowhere to sit! We stayed as long as my mom could stand, but her back started to hurt so we left. Sorry Jesus!
We came home and checked out what the Easter Bunny brought for Little Man. He was soo excited about his rubber ducky, and candy. He didn't really care about the books and such, but maybe he'll notice those later! His grandmas spoiled him too. He got an "Easter Wheelbarrow," filled with candy and treats. He also got some stuffed bunny rabbits, and a new tricycle! I think he might be a little small for the trike still, but it will be fun to get him to try it!
We went over to the country club by our house for brunch. The food was good, and the place was really nice. My only complaint was, they ran out of highchairs!! Are you kidding me?? I made reservations a while ago, and specified I had a young toddler who needed a high chair. When we got there, they were "all being used." D'oh! So Little Man got to sit in a booster seat for the very first time. I am not ready for him to sit w/o being strapped in, KWIM? lol. But he did fine, he didn't eat much besides grapes and pineapple, but enjoyed the peoplewatching.
Now we're home, Little Man is passed out, and I'm about ready to do the same. Happy Easter!
