How can I sum up a month?
I'll try....
-Went to Wisconsin. Got to move SIL from Madison to Milwaukee. Little Man showed off for relatives. Was fun, but tiring.
-Little Man had his evaluation, and he qualifies for speech therapy. They think he *might* have a form of apraxia, but hopefully just needs a little extra help to get his mouth going. We hope to start a little after July 1.
-Am kind of jobless right now. Haven't exactly quit or anything, but I have no students so I am working no hours and not getting paid. The company went kind of bonkers and laid off all of the office staff in my office. I didn't feel they handled it very well and that left a bad taste in my mouth - so I'm not sure I'll go back.
-It's been really hot. Yuck.
-Last week Little Man attempted to go to a water park with Grandma, but left after one hour because of course he was running around and fell and got a fat lip.
-This is the last week of my 3rd class for my MBA. Yahoo!
-I'm going to Florida on Friday for a week. Looking forward to the beach, but not looking forward to trying to keep Little Man from breaking everything in the IL's house.

Nervousness postponed.
The lady coming to the house today to see Little Man had to cancel, so I won't worry about that anymore. lol. Just now have to pack and write a paper when I get home from work tonight. I can do it!

I swear to god I'll cut my bangs!!!
That is a quote from an old Dana Carvey stand up when he impersonates Marcia Clark, the lawyer during the OJ trial. She starts going crazy, and holds scissors up to her head saying "I'll cut my bangs! I'll cut my bangs! I swear to god I'll cut my bangs!" Anyway.
I am trying really hard to keep it together but everytime damn Aunt Flo shows up I go off the deep end. Argh! Anyway, we leave on Thursday for Wisconsin. Right now it's Tuesday evening. I still need to write a 6 page paper, clean the house, pack. I have to work tomorrow and take L to Grandma's. And the lady is coming over tomorrow to meet Little Man and get a feel for what, if anything, may be wrong. I like to bundle everything up into 3 days of insanity. Oh, and I'm almost out of work so I've been scrambling to figure out what to do. Blah! I want to curl up in bed for a few days and then I'll be fine.
I can't whine anymore because I need to write my paper! Oh well. Boo hoo! Have a drink for me please!

Happy Mother's Day!
Hope you enjoyed the day. We had a nice day. Hubby made french toast for breakfast - yummy! Even Little Man had some, and liked it! Hubby and Little Man made me a stepping stone for Mother's Day - complete with handprints. It's so cute! We also got some potted plants for the front porch. It was a nice day.
After Little Man's nap, he just fell apart. Grandma had come over to have dinner with us but I think Little Man has another molar coming, and woke up screaming. It sucked. He went to bed early though so hopefully he'll feel better tomorrow....

Wicked.
I saw the show Wicked last night. It was incredible. I haven't seen a musical in a long time and it really made me wish I was still singing. I'm thinking about trying to at least find a choir or something. Anyway, I don't know if it's sold out, but if not, I highly recommend it!! It's at the Performing Arts Center for a few more weeks.

No pictures lately.
Bulleted update.
It's been over a week! I suck! A busy week for sure, so I'll do a bulleted list and just see what I remember.
-Hubby and I spent over an hour at the airport trying to redeem United credit vouchers for a flight. It was beyond ridiculous. I think they make it as difficult as possible so that most people will give up and not use their vouchers. Well kiss it United, we're getting our damn plane tickets! So there!
-My aunt and uncle are still in town. They spent last week in Colorado Springs and then Estes Park. They are so fun, they do whatever they want and fly by the seat of their pants. This week I think they are going to Georgetown, the zoo, some museums, who knows what else?!? They're here until Saturday.
-I bit the bullet and called Denver Options about Little Man. I don't know that I truly think something is wrong, but he's 19 months old and still not using any real words. So may as well have someone evaluate him to be sure. It sounds stupid, but I felt like a bad mom for calling. Yes, a bad mom for calling to get him help. I guess I felt like I was implying something is wrong with him when he's perfect? lol.
-Got my pictures from Lamb Photography. They are fantastic. I don't think I'm allowed to post any here but believe me they are wonderful. I'm having the hardest time picking out what ones to buy. Such a rough decision!
-I bought a used jogging stroller! My friend Sherri from a mommy board I'm on had one. I'm so excited to get off of my ass.
-It ends up my mom may not even have asthma. Remember her being in the hospital and all that? Well she went to an asthma clinic yesterday and they think she might have sleep apnea and interstitial lung disease instead. WHAT?!? I'm not going to worry about it until she sees the Sleep Clinic and the pulmonary doc tomorrow. So say a little prayer for her! I love my mommy and I want her HEALTHY and around for a LONG TIME.
-On Saturday my next door neighbors had a Cinco de Mayo party. It was pretty funny. Let's just say there was tequila worm eating, dogs drinking margaritas, and grown men riding in jogging strollers...
-On Thursday my mom and I are going to see Wicked! I am so excited! We've had tickets since last November, so it better be GREAT!!
-Next Wednesday we're going out of town for a week. To Wisconsin, not like a sunny beach or anything. I'll post more about that later.
You made it to the end! Give yourself a cookie! :D

I heart naps.
I really, really do. I took one yesterday, because the weekend had just worn me out. My brother flew in on Thursday night with his girlfriend, or soon-to-be fiancee, or whatever you want to call her. I was so nervous to meet her! She was so nice though, and they act like they've known each other for years. It's crazy. It's also hilarious to see someone kinda boss my brother around a little. Like she'll wear the pants in the relationship, lol. But he seems SOO happy so that's awesome. They're getting married in September and we'll be there! Can't wait.
My aunt and uncle also arrived yesterday. They will be here for 2 weeks! Little Man was totally overwhelmed with all the guests and just melted down. I'd never seen him like this before. My guests all went to Boulder for the afternoon yesterday, and Little Man napped, so therefore I napped too. I love having guests but it tires me.
Oh yeah - I got an A on my business plan. Hooray for me. Rock n roll!

Haven't you ever wanted to do this?
There are many times where I've had the "Really?!?" response in my head, but can't say it at risk of being rude. They put it perfectly.
ETA: This is the one where they talk about Michael Vick. How freaking funny is it that he used the name "Ron Mexico" to get STD medications at clinics? That is the greatest alias ever.

Fall is the new black.
Of weddings that is. Do you remember when everyone got married in the summer? When we were searching for places to get married in June, many places were booked 2 years in advance! Crazy! This year it seems like everyone is getting married at off-times. One of my old roommates got married in February, and my hair lady got married in March. And even more people are getting married in the Fall - my brother September 1, one of DH's friends September 8, one of my old HS boyfriends October 13, and my best friend October 19. Sheesh! It's madness I tell you. I'm not complaining, I LOVE weddings, and our summer is super busy as it is.
The Countdown to Thursday is on!
That's when my brother gets into town with his soon-to-be fiancee! I am so nervous and excited. I've never met her, and I'm hoping she's awesome. No pressure. hee hee. I also want my house to look normal and clean. I don't know if that will happen. I've been running around like an idiot trying to clean things that haven't been cleaned in a while. I also have to finish my business plan. I am happy to say that I'm CLOSE to having it done.
I am thrilled b/c I just bought a deck box for the backyard. You see, all of Little Man's backyard toys have been housed in the kitchen since Christmas. So my kitchen has basically looked like ass since then. So I am THRILLED at the idea of having his toys be outside where they should be. Hallelujah for sales, and for Target!

Grass disaster averted.
We went to turn on the sprinkler system this past week, only to realize it wouldn't turn on, and there was a huge pile of standing water in our sprinkler spout box. It totally sucked. We assumed we wouldn't be able to afford to get it fixed and would have to manually water the damn grass all summer.
BUT! We fixed this morning. Ourselves. We needed one piece to do it, and had to mess with some things, and the then the sprinklers gloriously came on! Hooray!
It feels SO good to not have to worry about that. Now I just have to worry about my damn business plan! I was up late doing it last night, I was sure I'd finish. Nope, not even halfway done! It's kicking my ass! Oh well. When I'm done, you'll hear me singing from the rooftop.

Long but good day!
We were all over the place. Little Man and I went to Kohl's and Big Lots (I found a perfect picture frame for his room, for $5 - score!), then to Grandma's to eat lunch. When Grandma got home, we all went over to the mall. Grandma bought Little Man some new duds and then he napped in his stroller while we ate pizza. Westminster Mall sure is going to shit, but man the pizza place there is GOOD! Anyway, I only had to work for 2 hours (yay!) and then I got my hair cut (double yay!). Tomorrow morning Little Man is being photographed by my friend that is a photographer - she is amazing. Check out her website Lamb Photography. I am so excited to have nice photos of him again! It's been a long time!
Oh yeah, some random quick thoughts:
-My aunt and uncle are coming to visit at the end of the month. If they like it here (they live in NJ), they're moving here. My mom is SOO excited.
-My dad scored a place for me to have my friend Katie's bridal shower in Milwaukee in September. Yahoo! One less thing to worry about.
-I really need to finish my business plan for school this week. If I do, then I can clean my house since my brother and his soon-to-be-fiancee will be here in ONE WEEK! AAAAHHHHHH!!!!

Dear lady at Payless,
I'm sorry that we wanted to come into your store at 9:40 - ten minutes after you were supposed to have opened. Would it really have been that hard to TURN THE LIGHTS ON while I was there? Don't worry, the shoes looked a lot less hideous in the dark anyhow.

Update to date post, and ode to Buffalo Wild Wings.
We saw Blades of Glory - it was hilarious! I haven't seen a movie in a long time. Then we ate at Buffalo Wild Wings with Little Man and Grandma. Little Man had macaroni and cheese (surprise surprise) and was totally covered in cheese by the end of lunch. I had a Chicken Tender Wrapper - highly recommend it. I almost always get it, unless I can't resist the call of some wings.
Hubby and I used to go to Buffalo Wild Wings ALL the time. One year of college his apartment was directly above one, so we'd always take advantage of 10 cent wing night. When we moved to Alabama after college, they opened one not far from our apartment. We'd go there for drinks or to watch sports. I remember Hubby breaking a huge beer glass during an exciting play in the NCAA basketball tournament. heh. When we moved to CO, there was one right by our apartment. Now that we live in the middle of nowhere though, the closest BWW is a good 20-25 minutes away.
The moral of the story? Someone give me a loan to open my own BWW on this side of town. Goldmine, I promise you.

Have a 'date night' at 10 am....
Tomorrow morning we're dropping Little Man off with Grandma and going to see an early movie and have lunch. Not the most romantic ever, but we take what we can get!

Good old ground beef.
Is it sad that my husband and I NEVER KNEW that ground beef can come in a tube-like packaging?!? We always have bought it in the styrofoam containers w/ saran wrap around it. Now we see it in this oval shape covered in plastic. It's like a whole world I never knew existed.

Getting my hopes up.
I HATE when I do this to myself. I see something and can instantly envision it coming to fruition, even if it's a total longshot. And then I'm disappointed when it doesn't happen. Argh! I applied for a part time job tonight, that I found on good old craigslist. I love that website. Anyhow, this job is for someone to review different software programs for usability and quality assurance. From home! Love it! The best part - the owner of the company went to school in WI. Can't go wrong with that. So, here I am, with my hopes up...

Happy Easter!
It feels more like Christmas than Easter. It's been snowing/freezing rain all day, and chilly! Yuck! We tried to go to church bright and early this morning. It was SOOOO crowded, there was nowhere to sit! We stayed as long as my mom could stand, but her back started to hurt so we left. Sorry Jesus!
We came home and checked out what the Easter Bunny brought for Little Man. He was soo excited about his rubber ducky, and candy. He didn't really care about the books and such, but maybe he'll notice those later! His grandmas spoiled him too. He got an "Easter Wheelbarrow," filled with candy and treats. He also got some stuffed bunny rabbits, and a new tricycle! I think he might be a little small for the trike still, but it will be fun to get him to try it!
We went over to the country club by our house for brunch. The food was good, and the place was really nice. My only complaint was, they ran out of highchairs!! Are you kidding me?? I made reservations a while ago, and specified I had a young toddler who needed a high chair. When we got there, they were "all being used." D'oh! So Little Man got to sit in a booster seat for the very first time. I am not ready for him to sit w/o being strapped in, KWIM? lol. But he did fine, he didn't eat much besides grapes and pineapple, but enjoyed the peoplewatching.
Now we're home, Little Man is passed out, and I'm about ready to do the same. Happy Easter!

Beer cheese dip.
My friend Woodsey gave me the recipe for this dip a few weeks ago. Which has been totally trouble, because it's FANTASTIC! I can't stop eating it. Here's the easy recipe:
-2 packages light cream cheese
-1 package Hidden Valley Ranch mix (original)
-1-2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (to taste)
-1/2 - 1 can of beer (to taste)
You basically mix the cream cheese and ranch seasoning in a bowl, then mix in beer and cheese to taste. Let it sit in the fridge a few hours to thicken up. It's wonderful with mini pretzels. Also recommend it w/ super pretzels.
Seriously, it is so good. I'm addicted!

soooo sleepy!
I have been tired all of the time lately. I don't know why! But today is a cold snowy day (happy end of March!), and Little Man is still asleep, so I'm going back to sleep! Gotta take advantage - who cares that I won't be able to shower until after lunch. I only have to work an hour tonight anyway. Nighty night!

For all the mommies out there...
The Dirty Sock Funtime Band added me as one of their MySpace friends. How funny is that? Little Man is stoked.
Other peoples' crazy makes me crazy.
Now I know I'm crazy, and I'm fine with it. But sometimes other peoples' craziness irks me to no end. Isn't that terrible?
The new crazy that is on my poop list is believing everything one reads on the internet. You have to be VERY CAREFUL where you get information from, as anyone can pay to have a study done in their favor. The internet can easily make one believe all kinds of things and, in essence, go CRAZY.
Ugh. I don't know what my life would be like if I believed everything I read. Maybe I'd be that crazy too.

Day One - The Diet.
Ok, I'm totally lying in that title. I can't diet. I know it all too well. Just can't. So instead, it's baby steps. I am not allowed to pig out at night anymore. It's been hard working through dinner and getting home at 8:15 three nights a week, and staying up every night for school. So, last night was the first night I didn't graze or binge or anything. I did get hungry before bed, so I had a cup of tea. How rational of me! lol. Nothing like the Dairy Queen I usually run out and get, or the entire box of Mini Nilla wafers that are supposed to be for my son. Let's see how long this lasts!
I have one wedding in October I have to look good for (or possibly two, if you saw the post below!) so I have some work to do!!

Something positive!
I *think* my brother may be getting married. Holy shit. He just met this girl a few months ago, but he sounds like she's the one. I am freaking out! Excited, and nervous because I want only the best for him. They are coming out in April so I'll get to meet her. Tee hee!
I don't want to see Kaiser Permanente again.

Ugh! Long story short, my mom went to the Kaiser med center THREE times in 5 days before they realized she had pneumonia and a bladder infection. By then, her blood pressure was really low and she was really dehydrated. Understandably. Last Wednesday I had the pleasure of going in the ambulance w/ her to the hospital. She was in the ER for 5 hours while they did various tests, and then she finally got a room. She was there until Saturday.
It was a rough few days, but she's finally getting better. I had her come stay with me until today, so I could make her food and keep an eye on her. She went home today and hopefully is starting to feel better.
It's neat though, my mom's only been in CO for a year, and only at her new job a few months. But she already has people that care about her greatly. One of her coworkers took her to the doctor for me (since I live across town), and drove my car to the hospital for me so I could ride in the ambulance. There are people lining up to bring her food and make sure she's ok. That's really nice. My mom is awesome and deserves the best. So there.
This post was depressing, so I'll lighten it up with this picture of Little Man, who got his hair cut yesterday. Sorry if it's a little dark!

March Madness
...was in full swing at my house for the last 4 days. Hubby took off Thursday and Friday from work in order to stay home and watch basketball. One of his buddies flew in from out of town, took off Thursday and Friday, and joined Hubby on the couch watching basketball. It's like a holiday here or something.
For the most part it was fun. It sucked b/c Wisconsin didn't even make the Sweet Sixteen. A huge disappointment. BUT there were a lot of great games - and Duke lost in the first round! How sweet is that. tee hee.
My mom's been sick which has been a bit hard, I want to be able to take care of her. Luckily over the weekend Hubby was home to watch Little Man so I could go check on her. Then yesterday she was at the doctor all day. Thank goodness my neighbor was able to watch Little Man for me so I could be at the doctor with her without Little Man causing chaos! Let's hope she's better soon!

What a difference a year makes
So we started swim lessons again. Last year, Little Man LOVED the water and had a blast. This year, not so much. I'm assuming it's because he realizes what is going on or something? At the last lesson I put him underwater and he freaked. I mean, screamed incessantly for the rest of the lesson. He was sooo mad at me. Today he did a little better, but still really fought me the whole time. He didn't want to kick his legs or swim around, just really wanted to play with the toys the instructor had. It's funny. I was sure he was going to love it, and that's really not the case! I dread going back because keeping him contained is so draining. BUT I know I have to keep going, it will get better, and hopefully he'll start to like it. Oy.

Earth to me!
Blog? I have a blog? I totally forgot. Well, not really but I just haven't had the time to post. Forgive me!
Work is becoming quite a pain. I love it when I am there, but the 45-minute commute is just not worth it. And I was informed that they may be moving FURTHER north (i.e. away from me) in the summer. If that's the case, I'm out! Too far!
School is kicking my butt. I did survive the first 8 weeks and got an A for that portion of the class. Yay me. I'm in the second part now, lots more work and I have to do a business plan. Craziness. I just have to remember that the class will be done April 30, and I will do a happy dance.
MIL has been here since the 1st. She rocks; she already installed cabinet locks for me so I can FINALLY let L run around in the kitchen once in a while. We painted my bedroom green (it's Behr's 'Restful' if you're ever at Home Depot). It looks great. I got a really cute wrought iron wall thingy for over the bed too. Now I just need to find a cute bedspread and I'll be set. I've also sloooowly started working on spring cleaning. Haven't gotten far on that though.
Hmmmm, what else is new? Little Man and I start Parent/Tot swim lessons next week. I'm so excited. We convinced the neighbors to do it too. It's 30 minutes, twice a week. Indoors. Basically to get Little Man comfortable in the water. We did it a year ago but I don't think he remembers class from when he was 6 months old! My mom is also sweet and said she'd pay for him to take a class with other kiddos. SO, this summer (after swim lessons are done) he's gonna take a class at a Gymboree-type place that isn't too far from here. I'm blessed to not need daycare but the kid needs more kiddo interaction! He still is not saying any real words (despite babbling CONSTANTLY all day long). He does other things though, and it's something new everyday. Although exhausting, this age is great. I'm sorry I haven't posted pics lately but I haven't even TAKEN pictures lately!
Alright, off to bed. Kisses!
Work is becoming quite a pain. I love it when I am there, but the 45-minute commute is just not worth it. And I was informed that they may be moving FURTHER north (i.e. away from me) in the summer. If that's the case, I'm out! Too far!

Last week of first class, spring cleaning, and other useless trivia.
This is my last week of my first class! Yahoo! Granted, the class continues with a second half that lasts 8 more weeks. But still, halfway there! Gotta love it. I've also started making a list of the thousands of things I want to do in the house for spring cleaning. My MIL gets here at the end of the week and we're painting my bedroom! I'm so excited. I will also do a lot on the spring cleaning list since I'll have her to hang with Little Man. Very thrilling.
Hubby and I fixed the ice maker in the fridge this weekend. It had been broken for 3 months. We're right on the ball. To celebrate we had margaritas Saturday night. Yummy. I can tell I don't drink much anymore, the margaritas caused me to eat a bunch of pancakes that my neighbor had made at 11:00 pm (long story), and follow it up with an entire frozen pizza. Oops.
Little Man is finally back to normal health wise. I'm fine during the day but seem to cough up a lung every night. I don't get it.
Well, off to Home Depot to get some paint! Ta ta!

Maybe on the upswing?
I am slooowly starting to feel better. This cold has really kicked my butt. I had to call in sick to work on Monday and I'm not a fan of that!
I am on week 7 of 8 in my first class. My class is technically in two parts, so this is just the first part, but it still feels good to be on my way!
I am going to admit that work and school is totally overwhelming me. That's part of why this blog has been so boring lately. I am trying really hard to handle it all but it's been harder than I thought. My house is a mess, and I am starting to really hate not being here at night. I'm hoping it passes because if not, I'll need to find another job. Blah!

Feeling like a dee dee dee.
I'm having my first "I'm an idiot" moment in school. Trying to finish up what I assumed would be a simple assignment. Only to realize, I don't have the slightest clue what I am doing. Ho-lee crap.
Update: I at least finished my assignment. I was up supah late last night and used all three hours of Little Man's naptime to finish it. Ugh! Tell me again why I signed up for this? lol

Holy crap, we will be sick forever.
How is Little Man still sick? This week has been whiny, crying, coughing and snotting. Nonstop. Sleep is a thing of the past. My poor baby. I feel so bad for him but I am about to go CRAZY. I am so worn out I can barely function! Ugh. He looks so sad with his crusty nose and swollen eyelids. Wah. That's why I haven't really posted this week. We's tired.

Thank you!
I have a lot of sweet people in my life that have made this a nice birthday, despite me being stuck at home with a sicky baby and then having to work tonight. I love you guys!

Happy Early Birthday Ma - here's some snot.
Little Man woke up this morning full of green snot and a fever. Poor buddy. He is miserable today, I feel bad for him. Oh well. This weekend has been pretty good otherwise. I got my hair colored for the first time since I had Little Man. Aahh! And she chopped up my hair and gave me bangs. I don't know how to style them yet. My hair looked FANTASTIC yesterday, and today I can't get it to do anything. Blah! One day when I figure it out I'll show you pictures...

Slowly but surely...
...feeling a little better. It helps that I finished all of my MBA homework last night, so I can actually enjoy the weekend! Yahoo! And my big bday present to myself is getting my hair cut and colored on Saturday. I CANNOT wait! weehee!
Little Man's up early, gotta go! Have a good day!

Something is up with me.
I just don't know what it is! Do you ever get that feeling that something is "wrong" but you can't really name specifics? I'm just tired and out of it. Weird. I think sleep is in order, so maybe I'll get myself in gear and get caught up on school work so I can sleep.
Today we went to my friend's house, she was making these gorgeous baskets for me that I'm giving some people as gifts. She is soooo talented. Anyway, Little Man got to play with her 4 yo daughter and 20-month old son. They were all cute. Then Little Man and I went to Sam's Club AND walmart. Now that he is napping, I'm trying to go back and forth doing reading for school and napping. Ugh! I have so much other stuff to do but I can't motivate. Heh, just "one of those days" I suppose!

And I thought I was done with taxes!
Did I mention that THE SAME DAY that I e-filed our taxes, we got a random 1099-MISC in the mail. That we weren't expecting. So I had to amend our taxes. That was a HUGE pain in the butt. Luckily it only made us owe about $11 bucks more on our taxes. I probably could have skipped it altogether, but I'd much rather pay $11 extra bucks now than get audited or something and owe lots more. Argh!!!

Hooray for Sunshine!
It's actually been fairly nice here this week. Today we even went to the zoo and got to take our coats off! It was wonderful. Little Man just loves watching other kiddos and seeing people. Animals he's still pretty indifferent about. He did great, until I made the mistake of letting him out of his stroller for a bit. He ran around like a crazy person, and when I tried to pick him up he went BALLISTIC. Quite the meltdown for him, and he's not really a 'meltdown' kind of guy. So we didn't last toooo much longer after that. Oh well - note to self, don't let him out until the end!! hee hee!

Cross taxes of the list...
I did them this afternoon! I'm a freaking rock star today. Of course by the time I get to work my brain will be useless, but at least I got something done today!
Oh yeah, it's warm! I can't believe it. I'm praying that by the end of the week we can see the pavement on my street...

I heart oil changes...
Ok, I don't really love getting my car's oil changed, but I LOVE the feeling of knowing it's done! I was really worried this time that with all the crazy snowy/icy roads that my car would be quite f'ed up. But alas, they said everything looked great. Filled my tires, my wiper fluid, vacuumed the inside, cleaned my windows. Happy happy me. Ahh, one less thing to worry about for a few days. There was even a cute little boy in the waiting area who entertained Little Man.
Next task - TAXES! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Sidenote...
Caffeine buzz.
I was quite the busy bee today, for once using time wisely. I did a lot of shopping, vacuumed the house, finished my MBA homework, made meatloaf. The best part of all? I went out to coffee with two wonderful ladies. It was snowing (AGAIN, I think I am going crazy!) so luckily I got my friend Laura to drive. Yahoo! Mommies we know do coffee nights now and again, but they are never anywhere near our side of town (the middle of nowhere). So since we all live by each other, we made our own! It was great to get out of the house for a bit and relax. And for once, I had accomplished everything I needed to get done beforehand, so I could enjoy it and not feel guilty about what I was or wasn't doing.
Little Man and I have also been diligently working on Valentines to send to relatives. By diligently I mean he eats the crayons and rips the valentines in half. A toddler's work is never done! This picture is of him helping color. I'm not incredibly creative with crafts and such, so I thought even this mediocre attempt at "making" something was better than nothing!

Movie Night!
I actually got most of my shit done today. Finished my school work, cleaned the bathrooms, even organized the coat closet. Sooo, tonight Hubby and I are watching "Little Miss Sunshine." Gotta keep up with the Oscar noms, you know! Little Man is sound asleep in bed (snoring quite loudly b/c of his cold!)We got popcorn and ice cream and are cuddling up. I can't tell you the last time we did this.
Bliss!
Bliss!
Can I have a nap please?
For the most of the week I wondered if I would make it. I am so overdramatic. School was a bee-otch this week, Little Man is sick, and I just feel very behind in the upkeep of the house. Now that it's Saturday I'm feeling better, so that's good. On Thursday my buddy Laura came by - and even brought me Starbucks. That SO made my week! I am always too cheap to splurge on Starbucks so when someone brings it for me it's like Christmas.
The best part of the week was that Hubby let me sleep in this morning - I slept until 9:30! It was fabulous. I miss the days of sleeping in.
I'm now off to figure out what I should use to organize my makeup drawer in the bathroom. I am convinced that I can use organizers for kitchen utensils but I haven't figured it out quite yet.

Surprising Papa....
So Saturday was my dad's 60th birthday. My brother (who lives in NC) and I flew in to Milwaukee on Friday, rented a car, and surprised him while he was out to dinner with his girlfriend. It was great. Then on Saturday night we threw a surprise party. His girlfriend went to a lot of trouble and did a great job. Hopefully they'll email me pictures so I can post some.
My brother was so wasted, the party was over, and while my dad, his girlfriend and I were cleaning up, my brother was in the corner singing Earth, Wind & Fire on the karaoke machine. It was priceless.
This whole weekend I was WITHOUT my little man. He stayed home with Daddy for the weekend. I did surprisingly well, I only cried a few times.
It was snowing on Sunday when I flew back. I wanted to fly standby for an earlier flight, but I didn't because I didn't get to the airport in time. Good thing - THIS was the flight I was supposed to be on! Eeeeek!
Now I'm home, and trying sooo hard to catch up on housework, groceries, school work, work, etc. It ain't easy. So that's why I haven't posted! Kisses!

Aren't I sexy!
So since Little Man was born I started grinding my teeth at night. I don't know why. But my dentist keeps hounding me, saying if I don't do something about it my teeth will all be ruined. Hello, I can't control what I do when I sleep! She wants me to get a nightguard from the dentist. AFTER insurance, this would run me about three hundred bucks. I of course do not have three hundred bucks.
So, I am trying THIS. It's a cheapy version I found at Walmart. I figure if it does what the expensive guard does, and only costs 20 bucks, it's genius!
I wore it for the first time last night. Hubby was so "sweet" he waited until I had the guard in my mouth to ask me questions. I was certainly hot with my lisp. I know you are jealous. So ladies, if you want to find a way to be alluring to your husbands, this is for sure it!

Look Ma - I'm not procrastinating!
I am all about procrastinating. I got through college doing all-nighters to study or write papers.
But alas! So far I have not been procrastinating in my MBA class. Granted, I'm only in Week 2, but hey! Better than nothing! I am already about 80% done with my work for the week, and it's not due until noon Sunday. Which means I can start Week 3 work early. It feels really good. I have to remind myself of how it feels when I want to put it off later in the course...

I have to remind myself of how it feels when I want to put it off later in the course...

Random thought...
When we have male guests stay at our house, they use the towels on the towel bar. Female guests get towels out of the linen closet and leave the towel bar towels as is. Why is that?
First Haircut!

Little Man got his very first hair cut today. We went to a place called Lollilocks, an adorable hair salon that caters to kids. What a brilliant idea! They had different things the kids could sit on when they got their hair cut. Little Man sat in a little car. It was so cute. He did great, he didn't freak out or anything. And he doesn't have a mullet anymore! He has a little boy haircut. Granted, he still has some more hair to grow before he has a "full head," but he's getting there! My boy's growin' up!

No wonder no one reads my blog....
...I don't even tell you when exciting things happen! lol. Read this blog of my neighbor's. It's from the other day when we convinced ourselves our other neighbor was dead!

Old pics are funny.
I am helping plan a surprise party for someone (who may read this, so I can't say much!). In doing so I'm going through old pictures, and some are HILARIOUS! Once the party is over I'll have to post some because they keep making me giggle. Oh, and I ordered a big old sign from BannerGrams. I will let you know how it turns out. It sure was expensive, but cheaper than the one Kinko's was going to do.

Why I was late to work yesterday...
Remember me?
You haven't heard from me in a while. But dammit, I've been busy! Let me update you...
-MIL and BIL's flights were canceled. They both (luckily) got in the next night. Unfortunately, my BIL's luggage was lost and he got in a few days later. (Side note, how does luggage on a DIRECT flight get lost?!?!?)
-Hubby and I did not make it to Orlando for New Year's. The weather was too crazy. We were able to cancel our hotel room, and got a credit for our plane tickets, so luckily we didn't lose much money.
-Since MIL was here for New Year's, I got drunk with hubby. We were so cool we played Trivial Pursuit. We were going to go to a party, but were both pretty crabby about the Florida cancellation and just weren't up for it. The worst part of being at home on New Year's - it was a Sunday night, so we couldn't watch Conan do his "Happy New Year Central Time Zone" - we enjoyed that last year when we were home with newborn Little Man.
-On an awesome note, Wisconsin won the Capital One Bowl! Go Badgers! (we could've been there....)
-We apparently missed quite the crazy time in Florida. Let's just say it involved trying to pry open a manhole cover with a policeman's nightstick to look for a cell phone at 2 in the morning...
-My SIL showed up on Jan 2nd, and she and MIL were here until last Sunday night. SIL is interviewing for residencies (she's in med school) and had an interview in Denver. I think she liked it, she's got a few more interviews but I'll keep you posted. It would be fun to have more family here! SIL and MIL did a lot of shopping with me - we hit both Castle Rock Outlets and Colorado Mills!
-I officially got into the MBA program! I started my class on Sunday night. It's kicking my butt and taking all of my time, but it's really interesting!
There you go! Now you're up to date. Now I have to keep up to date! Sheesh!

I really am alive...
Things have been crazy. My in laws leave tonight and then I'll have time to write all about New Years and the past week. Kisses!
