Beer cheese dip.

My friend Woodsey gave me the recipe for this dip a few weeks ago. Which has been totally trouble, because it's FANTASTIC! I can't stop eating it. Here's the easy recipe:

-2 packages light cream cheese
-1 package Hidden Valley Ranch mix (original)
-1-2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (to taste)
-1/2 - 1 can of beer (to taste)

You basically mix the cream cheese and ranch seasoning in a bowl, then mix in beer and cheese to taste. Let it sit in the fridge a few hours to thicken up. It's wonderful with mini pretzels. Also recommend it w/ super pretzels.

Seriously, it is so good. I'm addicted!

soooo sleepy!

I have been tired all of the time lately. I don't know why! But today is a cold snowy day (happy end of March!), and Little Man is still asleep, so I'm going back to sleep! Gotta take advantage - who cares that I won't be able to shower until after lunch. I only have to work an hour tonight anyway. Nighty night!

For all the mommies out there...

The Dirty Sock Funtime Band added me as one of their MySpace friends. How funny is that? Little Man is stoked.

Other peoples' crazy makes me crazy.

Now I know I'm crazy, and I'm fine with it. But sometimes other peoples' craziness irks me to no end. Isn't that terrible?

The new crazy that is on my poop list is believing everything one reads on the internet. You have to be VERY CAREFUL where you get information from, as anyone can pay to have a study done in their favor. The internet can easily make one believe all kinds of things and, in essence, go CRAZY.

Ugh. I don't know what my life would be like if I believed everything I read. Maybe I'd be that crazy too.

Day One - The Diet.

Ok, I'm totally lying in that title. I can't diet. I know it all too well. Just can't. So instead, it's baby steps. I am not allowed to pig out at night anymore. It's been hard working through dinner and getting home at 8:15 three nights a week, and staying up every night for school. So, last night was the first night I didn't graze or binge or anything. I did get hungry before bed, so I had a cup of tea. How rational of me! lol. Nothing like the Dairy Queen I usually run out and get, or the entire box of Mini Nilla wafers that are supposed to be for my son. Let's see how long this lasts!

I have one wedding in October I have to look good for (or possibly two, if you saw the post below!) so I have some work to do!!

Something positive!

I *think* my brother may be getting married. Holy shit. He just met this girl a few months ago, but he sounds like she's the one. I am freaking out! Excited, and nervous because I want only the best for him. They are coming out in April so I'll get to meet her. Tee hee!

I don't want to see Kaiser Permanente again.

Ugh! Long story short, my mom went to the Kaiser med center THREE times in 5 days before they realized she had pneumonia and a bladder infection. By then, her blood pressure was really low and she was really dehydrated. Understandably. Last Wednesday I had the pleasure of going in the ambulance w/ her to the hospital. She was in the ER for 5 hours while they did various tests, and then she finally got a room. She was there until Saturday.
It was a rough few days, but she's finally getting better. I had her come stay with me until today, so I could make her food and keep an eye on her. She went home today and hopefully is starting to feel better.

It's neat though, my mom's only been in CO for a year, and only at her new job a few months. But she already has people that care about her greatly. One of her coworkers took her to the doctor for me (since I live across town), and drove my car to the hospital for me so I could ride in the ambulance. There are people lining up to bring her food and make sure she's ok. That's really nice. My mom is awesome and deserves the best. So there.

This post was depressing, so I'll lighten it up with this picture of Little Man, who got his hair cut yesterday. Sorry if it's a little dark!

March Madness

...was in full swing at my house for the last 4 days. Hubby took off Thursday and Friday from work in order to stay home and watch basketball. One of his buddies flew in from out of town, took off Thursday and Friday, and joined Hubby on the couch watching basketball. It's like a holiday here or something.

For the most part it was fun. It sucked b/c Wisconsin didn't even make the Sweet Sixteen. A huge disappointment. BUT there were a lot of great games - and Duke lost in the first round! How sweet is that. tee hee.

My mom's been sick which has been a bit hard, I want to be able to take care of her. Luckily over the weekend Hubby was home to watch Little Man so I could go check on her. Then yesterday she was at the doctor all day. Thank goodness my neighbor was able to watch Little Man for me so I could be at the doctor with her without Little Man causing chaos! Let's hope she's better soon!

What a difference a year makes

So we started swim lessons again. Last year, Little Man LOVED the water and had a blast. This year, not so much. I'm assuming it's because he realizes what is going on or something? At the last lesson I put him underwater and he freaked. I mean, screamed incessantly for the rest of the lesson. He was sooo mad at me. Today he did a little better, but still really fought me the whole time. He didn't want to kick his legs or swim around, just really wanted to play with the toys the instructor had. It's funny. I was sure he was going to love it, and that's really not the case! I dread going back because keeping him contained is so draining. BUT I know I have to keep going, it will get better, and hopefully he'll start to like it. Oy.

Earth to me!

Blog? I have a blog? I totally forgot. Well, not really but I just haven't had the time to post. Forgive me!
Work is becoming quite a pain. I love it when I am there, but the 45-minute commute is just not worth it. And I was informed that they may be moving FURTHER north (i.e. away from me) in the summer. If that's the case, I'm out! Too far!
School is kicking my butt. I did survive the first 8 weeks and got an A for that portion of the class. Yay me. I'm in the second part now, lots more work and I have to do a business plan. Craziness. I just have to remember that the class will be done April 30, and I will do a happy dance.
MIL has been here since the 1st. She rocks; she already installed cabinet locks for me so I can FINALLY let L run around in the kitchen once in a while. We painted my bedroom green (it's Behr's 'Restful' if you're ever at Home Depot). It looks great. I got a really cute wrought iron wall thingy for over the bed too. Now I just need to find a cute bedspread and I'll be set. I've also sloooowly started working on spring cleaning. Haven't gotten far on that though.
Hmmmm, what else is new? Little Man and I start Parent/Tot swim lessons next week. I'm so excited. We convinced the neighbors to do it too. It's 30 minutes, twice a week. Indoors. Basically to get Little Man comfortable in the water. We did it a year ago but I don't think he remembers class from when he was 6 months old! My mom is also sweet and said she'd pay for him to take a class with other kiddos. SO, this summer (after swim lessons are done) he's gonna take a class at a Gymboree-type place that isn't too far from here. I'm blessed to not need daycare but the kid needs more kiddo interaction! He still is not saying any real words (despite babbling CONSTANTLY all day long). He does other things though, and it's something new everyday. Although exhausting, this age is great. I'm sorry I haven't posted pics lately but I haven't even TAKEN pictures lately!

Alright, off to bed. Kisses!
